Playful appropriation of the public urban space. How can we use the notion of play to explore, position, adopt space, make it our own?
This event takes place in the public space surrounding Zeitz MOCAA, at the V&A Silo District. This #FREESPACE project is focused around reinterpreting the street games to reclaim and reinvent public space in the city by young imaginative minds.
Fun and games, derived from diverse cultural backgrounds, are being deployed to enable the young participants to interact together through the medium of space. Through experimentation, discovery and exchange, children share their own notions of space.
This exciting educational project for children aims to spark interest in the qualities of space, their socio-cultural environment, towards reimaging the city. The focus is to empower the leading citizens of tomorrow to make creative, inclusive decisions and take accountability for their environment towards a sustainable future.
